SAN MIGUEL CORPORATION
San Miguel Corporation (SMC), the largest manufacturing company in the Philippines has been
a major customer for several years. Some of the more recent engagements for SMC focus on the company's core business
processes of sales and distribution. After the successful construction of the application systems, CIS was tapped for
nationwide implementation.
ROUTE ACCOUNTING SYSTEM. A handheld-computer based system to process and enhance field sales and other related
activities. It captures information on sales, credit, and collection transactions, and generates documents through a
portable printer. It also collects information on availability of merchandising materials, support equipment, and
promotional items. Major functions include: customer inquiry and data capture, sales order entry, credit and collection
entry, route and salesman inquiry, products inquiry, and competitor information data capture.
SALES INFORMATION SYSTEM. Sales information from the Route Accounting System are uploaded and integrated with the
warehousing and delivery modules. Jointly developed by CIS and SMC's Beer Division.
SALES REPORTING SYSTEM. The Sales Reporting System summarizes sales and produts information from the Sales Information
System and generates management reports for sales analysis from the route through regional levels.
PULL SYSTEM. Integrates sales order processing, warehouse management, delivery, and sales analysis. Jointly developed by
CIS and Andersen Consulting.
